We LOVE crab cakes, cooked from scratch. They may seem daunting to make from scratch, but are really pretty easy to prepare.
Ingredients for Crab Cakes
-1 lb of high quality crab meat, picked free of bones or shell (you can buy fresh caned from the seafood section of many stores)
-1/3 cup panko
-2-3 crushed butter crackers (optional)
-1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
-1 egg
-freshly squeezed juice from one lemon
-1/4 tsp garlic powder
-1/8 - 1/4 cup mayonnaise
-1/8 cup Tequila Dale's W.O.W. Sauce
-1 tsp salt
-dash of pepper
-vegetable (canola, peanut or olive) for cooking
Directions
Mix all ingredients together (except oil) and form patties. You can coat patties in extra panko or cracker crumbs if you'd like. Heat oil in pan and fry patties over medium-high heat until browned on each side (about 3-4 minutes per side). Drain cooked crab cake prior to serving. Serve over fresh greens, topped with our Tequila Dale's Remoulade.
Ingredients for Remoulade
-1/2 cup of mayonaise
-2 Tbsp of Tequila Dale's W.O.W. Sauce (or to taste)
-2 Tbsp of Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions
Mix all ingredients together and serve over crab cakes
